FAQ’s

Q. Do you give advice over the phone on how to fix my own plumbing?

A. No unfortunately we do not, as we could be held responsible should something go wrong. However we will give safety and emergency advice free of charge if necessary.

Q. My tap is dripping, I know it’s only a small job, but I can’t find anyone to repair it. Would your company do this?

A. Yes, we specialise in this sort of work, there is a big gap in this field and see a need to fill it. We would like to put our customers at ease with the knowledge that there is someone there to help.

Q. How do I know I can trust you?

A. My portfolio of business has included working for MOD contracts and this is not something you can do without stringent checks on your background. I am also CRB checked through a charity organisation.

Q. Are you qualified?

A. I have a 4 year timed served apprenticeship behind me and a vast array of other qualifications related to industry. I have trained many people in my lifetime in skilled workmanship and shared valuable knowledge. Training is something I am still involved in on a regular basis.

Q. Do you take your shoes off when you come in my house to work as I have a new carpet?

A. No, we do not remove our safety shoes under any circumstances. We do have dust sheets and can lay these down for you, or you can do likewise. If you are worried about your carpet, try and inform us first, we will understand.

Q. Have you been doing this long?

A. I have personally been involved with plumbing and heating for a continuous period of 23 years.

Q. Are you VAT registered?

A. No, this is because we specialise in small work and our financial turnover is less than the required amount for VAT registration.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

A. Credit/debit card or cash. We do not accept cheques any longer due to bank charges.

Q. When do I have to pay the bill?

A. Payment is required immediately. This is the only way we can keep our charges low. After all, the supermarkets don’t wait for payment of their goods and nor do we. Should an invoice not be paid on time we will invoke the statutory interest charges laid out by the government to protect small businesses. In the past we have used a debt recovery system and this is always unpleasant for everyone involved.
